Marina Genn

Although Marina Genn first sat on a horse at the tender age of four, she went on to become a talented gymnast and was short-listed for the Olympics by the age of twelve. However, she preferred riding horses and so while still in her teens became a fierce equestrian competitor instead. In time she studied under the direction of such accomplished riders as Dr. Reiner Klimke (Gold Medal Olympian and World and European Champion), Herbert Rehbein (world-class trainer and competitor), and Johann Hinneman (World Champion and Individual Bronze Medalist).

Marina’s ambition and great love of horses then led her to open the Reitschule Genn GmbH in West Germany, which by the mid-1970s had become the most prominent, well respected center in Germany for the preparation and training of competitive riders and horses. Marina trained all of the young horses herself – and proceeded to ride many of them to victory as a national and international competitor.

In the areas of Dressage, Stadium Jumping and Three-Day Eventing, Marina is a consummate professional who has trained and competed with the world’s best. In fact, she has won over 1,200 ribbons. She has placed more than 350 Claiming Titles, including 144 First Places, 65 Seconds and 55 Thirds.
